SexTalk for Parents - Our Educator

SexTalk for Parents programs are conducted by Lea Shaw, a health professional with over twenty years experience in reproductive and sexual health. She has worked in Australia, Asia and the Pacific to promote healthy sexuality through educating other health professionals, planning for and implementing appropriate and innovative reproductive health strategies, and most importantly, providing sexuality education directly to community groups. She is currently contracted to the Australian Government (AusAID) to monitor and review health aid projects in Asia and the Pacific.
Lea has a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, education and journalism; a Masters in Tropical Health and training as a community family planning educator. She is a former Director of the Board of Family Planning Queensland, a former member of Family Planning Australia's International Advisory Committee and a former LifeLine counsellor.

Lea began her work as a community-based educator 25 years ago in Toowoomba, working with parent, youth and other groups. Read a recommendation from one of Queensland's foremost sex education experts.
